Really??

According to the Look-alike meter on MyHeritage.com, Lucy looks equally like both of us! Hmm . . .hard to believe when I look at her and all I see is Michael! What do you think?

Eight months old!

What a busy week this has been! Lucy is now finished wearing her DOC band - we had our last visit to Charlotte on Thursday. We are so thankful that we decided to fix her flat spot and we are very pleased with the result. Lucy's eight month birthday was also on Thursday. On Friday, Lucy had a check up at the pediatrician. I thought it was unusual that they scheduled this appointment this early and turns out when we got there on Friday, they were just as shocked - she was a month early for her nine month check up! But since there were no vaccinations this visit, Dr. Bernstein said it was ok to go ahead since we were already there. Michael joked that Lucy has always been a month early for everything and that she must get this trait from her Poppa. Hopefully Lucy will always keep "Alexander Time" rather than "Flack time" ! :)

Everything looked great at the doctors - she is now 16 lbs, 12 oz. and 26 1/4 inches long. I actually think she measures closer to 27 inches since she has greatly outgrown all her 3-6 mo. pants but she is definitely growing! He was very pleased with all he saw and other than her dry skin (one of the many things she inherited from her Daddy!), he said she is perfect!! We, of course, already knew that!

Lucy has two lower teeth and is drooling all the time, so there must be more coming soon! She is trying to crawl, but hasn't had much success with it yet. She loves to stand and can stand alone now when she's holding on to something. She can't pull herself up yet, but if she wants to stand up, she will fuss to get your attention until you help her up! :)

I went to the WeeTrade consignment sale this past Thursday and found a few cute outfits for Lucy to wear this summer. I also picked up the piano you see in the pictures above. Let me tell you, it has been money well spent! We spent ALL day playing with the piano. I love it because not only can you sit and play the piano, but it has notes written on the sheet music on the stand - three different songs! Then there is a little button you can push that teaches high/low and another for fast/slow. And it has a feature for colors and numbers and it plays classical songs and folk songs too. Lucy has been fascinated by it (and not just because Mommy loves it too!).

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentines Day!! Lucy had a fun Valentine weekend with Grammy while Mommy and Daddy had an evening in Greenville. We had a nice dinner with adult conversation, went to see WICKED, had an evening of uninterrupted sleep, and then went shopping on Saturday morning. Who knows what kind of fun Lucy and Grammy had . . . . :) For Valentine's Day, we spent most of the day at church. Lucy is quickly learning as a PK (Pastor's kid) that Sundays are anything but restful! She is doing much better in the nursery though and enjoys watching the other kids and playing with Mrs. Sue.

Lucy will be eight months old on Thursday - where has time gone??? She's moved up into her 6-9 month clothes, so we have all kinds of new outfits to show off. Lucy is also supposed to be finished wearing her DOC band this coming Thursday. You can see from our pictures that we have not done the best job of making her wear it lately. She always wears it to bed but she sits up and plays all day so we don't worry too much about it. Lucy has been eating a lot more solid food now -she eats oatmeal and fruit for breakfast, a veggie or fruit at lunch, and a veggie and rice at dinner. She also will have an occasional baby yogurt or baby vanilla pudding for a snack. She will be ready for finger foods any day now. When she plays on her belly, she can get her arms and her legs moving, but hasn't quite figured out how to get the rest of her to go. She loves to sit and play and loves to stand. She even "walks" as you hold her little body up. One of her new favorite games is to walk towards Baxter. Once she gets close, he runs somewhere else and so she turns and heads toward him again. I hope Baxter is ready for once Lucy is truly mobile - she will be after him!

I guess that's about all for now. Lucy has her eight month checkup on Friday so it will be interesting to see how much she has grown in the past two months. Michael is still at home with her until the end of the month, so she is having a great time with her Daddy. Hopefully, we will have some childcare lined up soon. . . It's hard to believe that April will be here soon (even harder when it snows almost every other day!) and someone else will be spending the day with her. Uncle David is working on winning the lottery for us so that I can stay home and play with Lucy. I guess until then, we'll figure something out! ;)
