Lunch at Lake Junaluska

We traveled with the Primetimers up to Lake Junaluska today to eat lunch at the Lambuth Inn. This is an annual Primetimer tradition that Michael always attends and since we had finished school last week, Lucy and I were able to go too.

Lucy had lots of fun looking at all the decorations everywhere, especially the tree at the front with the train going around the bottom. She also loved the ornaments on the tree because they would spin! :)


After lunch, we went outside and decided to snap a few pictures. Despite the frigid temperatures, the view at Lake Junaluska just can't be beat! However, the view you see in the next picture is probably my favorite. :)

It's hard to tell in these pictures, but the lake was half frozen. . .it was quite cold!!



This was our last picture because the wind started to blow. The wind chill factor in Mills River today was -4. I'm not sure what it was in Junaluska, but it must have been colder than that!!

Christmas Fun

We have had a lazy two days here in the Flack house. The ground is covered with snow, it is BITTER COLD outside and so we have just had some fun family time together. And now as I sit here typing this, Lucy is curled up with her Daddy, watching Wheel of Fortune (Lucy's 2nd favorite show, second only to Curious George!)

Snow surprise!!!

The phone woke us up this morning at 7:00. . . just before the alarm. To our surprise, there would be no Christmas Cantata at church today because it had SNOWED overnight! There was talk of snow on Sunday night, but we were not expecting it this morning at all! We got about 3.5 inches at our house, with more on the way this evening. Before we got ready to go to church, we took Lucy out in the snow, which she seemed to enjoy. . . hope that you enjoy the pictures! :)

A Random photo

We went to go get family pictures taken today. . .sadly, that didn't happen! We waited 45 minutes past our appointment time and then just had to leave . . . Lucy was past done by then! Oh well, things don't always go the way you want them to!! So here's a random Lucy face for your enjoyment. . . I'll do better tomorrow!

A haircut

The picture quality isn't the best since it was taken with a phone, but here is Lucy helping Kelly clean up after her haircut! Michael had a hair appointment today and Lucy's was getting a little crazy, so she went too!

Other than that, it has been a BUSY day - with a full day of school and packing up everything for the school move from HES to BDS. Then tonight was the Cantata Dress rehearsal. . . Lucy was ready for bed before we left home, but she was a trooper and went and played in the nursery. ( I think she spent most of her time cuddling with Mrs. Sue, though!)

And tomorrow is another busy day with family pictures and the Christmas Cantata tomorrow night. But Grammy and Poppa are coming so Lucy can stay home and play with them! And as a side note, it's Christmas break! No school for three weeks!!!! :)

Been a busy week. . . short on photos today. . . here is one of our lighted bear that sits by the Christmas tree. Lucy loves to sit next to him and stare. :)

My crazy child

Lucy is a wild child. . . .you never know what she's going to do next! I tried to get some pictures of her sitting in front of the tree in her cute little gingerbread shirt. Last Christmas when I sat her down in front of the tree, she stayed there. This year is a new ballgame!!

Here's the best we could do!

Lucy wandered around the living room, talking to herself. I snapped this picture during one of her laps around the dining room table. This pictures makes me laugh. . . and as a side note, look how much hair Lucy has now!!

So I didn't get a great picture of Lucy in front of the tree. . . but I did get this next photo of Lucy. . . which Michael and I have titled "Santa is Coming!!!" :)
