Monday morning started with a quick breakfast at Biscuitville followed by the drive to The Children's Home in Winston-Salem. It was a busy morning, pulling the strawberry plants out of the field. They had grown the strawberries to raise money for the Home and now needed to pull them up so they could plant pumpkins.
There were still some strawberries that you could eat too! :)
Apparently, they had carrots there at one time too!
Aaron, hard at work pulling up plants
Avery and Nicole were a hard working team!
We had a quick lunch after pulling up 10 rows of strawberry plants (They thought we would only be able to get done with 5 - they just didn't realize how awesome our group is!). After lunch, we headed back to the Children's home to sing. About five minutes before we sang, I realized that we didn't have our music. . . .it was sitting in the Flack's living room! But our group is amazing, and with the help of my notebook (which we did, thankfully, have!) , our kids made it through everything without their notebooks. Other than a few confused word phrases, it was a fairly glitch-free concert!
We finished singing, and then went down to the dining area, and helped them clean the kitchen towards their inspection next week. Our kids worked hard and got everything cleaned in about 45 minutes.
Rebecca, cleaning
Maggie, organizing the spoon drawer
Mary Kent, having a little fun with Victoria
Brian worked too!
And just in case anyone wondered, who was in charge on this trip . . . :)
Or some more of this. . . .
And probably some of this too . . . .
