Eight months old!

What a busy week this has been! Lucy is now finished wearing her DOC band - we had our last visit to Charlotte on Thursday. We are so thankful that we decided to fix her flat spot and we are very pleased with the result. Lucy's eight month birthday was also on Thursday. On Friday, Lucy had a check up at the pediatrician. I thought it was unusual that they scheduled this appointment this early and turns out when we got there on Friday, they were just as shocked - she was a month early for her nine month check up! But since there were no vaccinations this visit, Dr. Bernstein said it was ok to go ahead since we were already there. Michael joked that Lucy has always been a month early for everything and that she must get this trait from her Poppa. Hopefully Lucy will always keep "Alexander Time" rather than "Flack time" ! :)

Everything looked great at the doctors - she is now 16 lbs, 12 oz. and 26 1/4 inches long. I actually think she measures closer to 27 inches since she has greatly outgrown all her 3-6 mo. pants but she is definitely growing! He was very pleased with all he saw and other than her dry skin (one of the many things she inherited from her Daddy!), he said she is perfect!! We, of course, already knew that!

Lucy has two lower teeth and is drooling all the time, so there must be more coming soon! She is trying to crawl, but hasn't had much success with it yet. She loves to stand and can stand alone now when she's holding on to something. She can't pull herself up yet, but if she wants to stand up, she will fuss to get your attention until you help her up! :)

I went to the WeeTrade consignment sale this past Thursday and found a few cute outfits for Lucy to wear this summer. I also picked up the piano you see in the pictures above. Let me tell you, it has been money well spent! We spent ALL day playing with the piano. I love it because not only can you sit and play the piano, but it has notes written on the sheet music on the stand - three different songs! Then there is a little button you can push that teaches high/low and another for fast/slow. And it has a feature for colors and numbers and it plays classical songs and folk songs too. Lucy has been fascinated by it (and not just because Mommy loves it too!).
